Whatever city or hiking trail you choose - the Flattop Trail Hike in Anchorage, Childs Glacier in Cordova or Keystone Canyon in Valdez - Alaska promises venues that allow you to be close to Mother Nature. You are sure to encounter one of the most pristine environments in the world as you hike past wildflower meadows and habitats of moose, bears and mountain goats. As you reach the top, seize the opportunity to relax and take in the jaw-dropping picturesque view.

Note: Despite the relatively warm Alaskan weather during the summer, it is best to gear yourself up in layers or thick clothing as the temperature gets cooler when you elevate.

Denali National Park is widely known for its wildlife abundance and for housing the tallest mountain in North America, the majestic Mount McKinley. Offering dozens of activities to both Alaska residents and visitors, there is particularly one activity that the park offers that you would find apt to your Alaskan adventure vacation. The first time Europeans heard about Seychelles was in 1502, following Vasco de Gama's travel. After various historical episodes – England and France contended the sovereignty of the area for many years – finally Seychelles ended up under the English government, and now they are a semi-presidential republic. The cultural and social character of the islands, mostly matriarchal, is evident: the control of the families is in the women's hands, which often are unmarried, whereas the male contribution is mostly economic. Families are often composed by various generations of women which educate children together. Being the Seychelles a small archipelago off the coast of northern Madagascar, their organization is quite complicated, as they need to be self-sufficient in everything. The main issue is education, a problem which, in the last years, has found a definitive and complete solution: institutions are in charge of citizens' education since 1944, and the first Technical Institute has been inaugurated in 1970; before, education was in the hands of the Catholic and the Anglican Church, whose missionaries provided teaching. After the foundation of the school and the training of teachers, many other schools followed, and now literacy rate hits 90%, while 85% of elderly people is able to read and write, thanks to the adult literacy classes provided to increase the previous rate of 60%. Unfortunately, a university still does not exist; however, a few university courses are going to be activated in cooperation with London University, and they will be able to grant internationally recognized titles.
Living at the Seychelles as a tourist will bring no thoughts of this kind: the inhabitants of the archipelago not only speak Creole, but also English and French, inherited from the past colonisations; moreover, they are likely to assist tourists in order to have them spending wonderful holidays in apartments or villas. The marvellous sea surrounding the islands is crystalline and the beaches paradisiacal; staying on an island far from anyone and anything will help you retrieving the ability to relax and enjoy the joys of life. Gastronomy has been influenced by French traditions, by the abundance of fish of the Indian Ocean and by the spicy and strong flavours of the Creole cuisine; the traditional music as well comes out of a mix of European, African and Indian cultures. It is quite curious fact that an substantial part of family expenses of the island's inhabitants is constituted by events and parties of various kinds, such as weddings anniversaries and engagements.
Seychelles islands are much more than a holiday destination, they are a paradise to benefit from, in order to regain the pleasure of living with no duties, surrounded by a luxuriant nature which hosts the main marine birds colonies in the world, various species of orchids and the rare black parrot of the Seychelles, a protected species and a national symbol... The beauties and particularities to list are countless, but the best thing is to see them all with your own eyes.

Fashionable Travel Clothing Choices

I used to be absolutely obsessed with my appearance. In general, this wasn't really a problem. You see, I had plenty of free time, and would make sure to get up early enough to get ready for work. I would look great every day, and it made me feel great. Unfortunately, it was a problem when I traveled.

You see, the same clothes that might make you look stunning at home make terrible travel clothing. Travel apparel demands certain sacrifices for those of us who are more formal. For example, if you insist on dressing up every day, it can make things rather difficult. Unless you use wrinkle free travel clothes, you have to pack an iron. Your clothing, no matter how carefully packet, will get wrinkled. You might also have to take it travel garment bag with you to keep things from getting too messed up.

More to the point, insisting on dressing well all the time means that you have to bring more clothing for travel than you would otherwise. A casual dresser only has to bring enough outfits to have a new one for each day of the trip, or at least every other day. If you are a snappy dresser, however, you'll need to get two sets of travel clothing: your formal one, and a relaxed one for outdoor activities.

When I was planning my first extended trip to Europe, I decided that enough was enough. This time, I resolved I would be more practical with my travel clothing. I brought one nice outfit in case I wanted to go to a fancy restaurant, but the rest was casual. I have never had such a relaxing vacation before! I packed good outdoor clothing – comfortable, durable, and compact. Rather than my usual three pieces of luggage, I only had to take one! Although I admit that I missed my nice clothes on the trip from time to time, in general I was happy without them. It was certainly worth the increased convenience.

Of course, once I switched to good travel clothing, I had to go a step further. As silly as my expensive clothes were, my fancy luggage was even more ridiculous. I bought myself a hiking backpack to take on all my trips in the future. I don't know why more people don't use them – they are so much more convenient than suitcases. It is liberating to finally understand how to make traveling easy for myself.
