Is it Time for a New Wardrobe?

One of our largest expenditures after housing and groceries has got to be clothing.  If it is time to add to your wardrobe, we want to see if we can help. As you know, clothes can be very expensive, especially with all the different trends that come out every season. Here are some tactics to keep your clothing budget in line.

·           Don’t buy clothes at the start of a season. Prices will always be highest when new items are released to the stores. Wait a month or six weeks, and the prices will likely have come down. For example, buy your winter coat in October and your new swimwear in July. You’ll still get several months’ wear in the season the clothing was intended for.

If you can be patient enough to wait for the end of the season, you will really get some great bargains, and still be able to wear them despite the changing temperatures. For example, you can still get wear out of the summer shift you purchased at the end of August by adding a cardigan and tights.

·

·           Garage Sales can be a great place to buy gently used kids’ clothing. Many times the tags for the clothing may still be attached. The same advice holds true for second-hand stores such as Good Will and Salvation Army stores. You can get some fantastic bargains by watching carefully.

·

·           If you love to shop online, check for coupon codes from your favorite retailer. Coupon codes give you a percentage off your total purchase price, or may give you free shipping on your items. When you enter the coupon code at the checkout screen, you will receive your discount. You can simply perform a search for “coupon code+retailer” and see what might be available.

If you’re a hard-core dedicated shopper at a certain retailer, you might want to see about getting part-time work at the store in order to receive an employee’s discount.
